Success Story Anju Rani Sarkar lives at collage para in Bogra district, under Dhunat upazilla. Anju Rani is a house wife, and her husband is a day labour. She has two sons. Her husband’s daily income was only one hundred taka which was very poor to maintain their family. So every day she struggle with her poor life.
Once Anju Rani meets with Mr. Abul Kalam Azad who is a development worker of Symbiosis Bangladesh and describes her livelihood tragedy. Mr. Kalam said her to admit `Monalisa’ functional education group, and accordingly she admitted after consulting with her husband. Anju Rani was continuing her study with others and after eight month they opened a savings group and continuing their savings. She proposed 3000 taka loan from the savings group and bought two goats after getting loan. Anju Rani repays her loan regularly and after full repayment, again she took 6000 taka loan from the savings group. After getting the fund she opened a tea stall in Dhunat market. Her husband is looking after that stall. Now her income is 250-300 taka per day and her family lives a gentle life. Now her two sons going to school. Where one is reading in class five and another is in class two. Anju Rani was not aware on different issues but now she aware on these, and accordingly she has a healthy toilet and tube-well in her house. Now she gives learning facilities, medicine facilities, enabling environmental facilities and income security to her family. They can consume nutrition daily. Analysis: As a result Anju Rani could change her livelihood as well as socio-economic condition. |
