Story:
Zohora is a woman and about 30 years old. She lives in Darichandraw bari village in Dhanbari upazila in Tangail district. She was illiterate and a housewife. She is married and She has one son and a daughter. Her children couldn’t go to school. She used to cook to others house and earn money. Her income was Tk 300 per month. Her husband has no work. They were living in a hut. The health of other family members were very poor. This income was not enough for maintaining their family. She were not aware of education, health, women rights, human rights, child marriage etc. Poverty was big problem for them. They were rejected in their community. Nobody did not respect to them. She was living with help less and hopes less condition.


Zohara1One day, a Symbiosis staff met with Zohora, and she talked about symbiosis work such as Functional education class, savings group, income generation activity, kitchen garden, nutrition, child Growth monitoring etc. Zohora was discussed about her family’s problems with symbiosis worker. After knowing about her family, one-day symbiosis staff asked Zohora to join into our Functional Education class in their community. With our motivation and She joined into the FE group nad completed FE course successfully. FE learners have formed a savings group in that moment and start giving weekly savings by all group members. Symbiosis staffs gave motivation to her about various development issues. Zohora is a member of that group. In the mean time she received various training from our project. Such as leadership, kitchen gardening, poultry, cow rearing, women rights, and health. One day, she took out tk.500 as loan for poultry Rearing from her savings group. She found that this poultry opened an opportunity to make some extra income. She found that this poltry is profitable for her. The time she was doing the poltry she was thinkg about goat rearing and Zohora2for the Second time Zohora again took tk 1000 as loan from their savings group for goat rearing purpose. Before she took her second loan from the savings group she already repaied her first loan to the savings group from the profit she made from poltry. Next time Zohora again took tk.2500 as loan from their asvings group for van purchase for her husband. Her husband drives this van. Her husband income is now TK.200 per day. Her family’s income is increasing day by day. She refunded all loans by monthly installment from her daily income. Now Zohora is raising goat. She has three goats. She will establish big livestock business in future. She has made a tin- shed house. Now, her son is going to school. Her family’s health condition is moch more better then before.
Zohora is aware about our various social issues. Her group name Ashar Allo female group. She is earning from various incomes generation activities. She is maintaining her family. She is honorable person in their family and in their community. Now she is very happy and empowered. She is very pleased about the advice from symbiosis and the symbiosis worker which helped her to change her family life .We think that she is successful lady.
